GO ROCKETS!!!

Last night was the most exciting Rockets game to date. Houston won their first round series against Portland, 4-2. With the game 6 win, we were able to move onto the next round of the playoffs. We are now matched up against the Los Angeles Lakers, with the Lakers holding home court advantage.

Last night was game 1 of the Houston - L.A. series. Houston managed to control both ends of the floor and pulled off a 9-point win in L.A.!!! The Rockets performance kept the L.A. crowd much more silent than usual; I can't remember ever hearing Staples Center so quiet--it was beautiful!

Every Rocket dug deep into their hearts, minds, and guts to pull off the win. The effort from each Rocket player was amazing. To add to the drama, Shane Battier was elbowed by Sasha Vujacic. The incident caused a pretty nasty gash above his eye. Shane was ok after a couple stitches closed the cut up. Then, Rockets fans were dealt a huge scare when All-Star center, Yao Ming, went down in severe pain after a knee-to-knee collision with Kobe Bryant. It looked like Yao was going to be out for the rest of the year, because he was expressing excruciating pain, but after the trainers took care of him and a brisk walk, Yao returned and scored a crucial long range 2 point shot to show L.A. that the Rockets were not going to lose.

Game 2 is on Wednesday in L.A. If the Rockets play with the same drive, and effort they had in Game 1, we will undoubtedly win the championship. I will be providing my support for each and every game.
