This blog will contain my random thoughts, concerns, and expressions. This is my first "actual" blog and I do expect to have fun maintaining it. I call it my first "actual" blog because I had an earlier blog up during the year, but for some reason blogger.com decided to remove it. I do not know why they removed it, but I have this blog up and running now, so welcome readers, lets get acquainted.
As you can tell from the title of my blog, I am a dedicated Houston Rockets fan. I was born in Washington, DC, and raised in the suburbs of Virginia. I do intend to visit Houston to watch a Rockets game once I save enough money. During a night of drinking and partying, my friends told me I actually thought I was in Houston, though I have never been. Pretty funny right? I am an avid sports fan and watch a lot of basketball, soccer, and American football. This is a great time of the year for my friends and me. Right now there is basketball playoffs, and Champions League soccer. One of my close friends schedules his classes around the Champions League schedule so he never misses a game. The Champions League is a stage for all the champions of European club soccer to compete for the coveted UEFA Champions League Trophy. The winner of this trophy is the champion of European soccer. I was fortunate to be in Vancouver, British Columbia during last year's final (the final was played in Moscow, but I was lucky to be in another country watching it with other international soccer fans). It was an exciting final which finished in a penalty shootout between Manchester United and Chelsea (two of English soccer's premier clubs). Manchester United won and all the Chelsea fans (who were packed in the pub, singing, chanting, and carrying flags) stormed out in the blink of an eye! This year's final will be played in Rome and today I watched the semifinal game between Arsenal and Manchester United. Man, I love champions league time! I can't wait to find out which teams are going to the finals.
Other sports notes: This Friday is game 6 of the Rockets and Portland series. Houston is up 3 games to 2, and I will be watching for Houston to end the series at home Friday. This Saturday is the long-awaited Pacquaio vs. Hatton fight (should be an easy one for Pacman). Also, Michael Vick is coming home soon. Who thinks he'll be back in the NFL?
(why won't this blogger indent my first lines?)
